Sponsor Spotlight: 5678 Vintage

I've mentioned 5678 Vintage a time or two before, and I'm so glad to have Kathy back as a sponsor once more and this time with a beautifully shot (and styled) lookbook! I love the idea of piecing together small collections to make an etsy lookbook. I think it adds a great story and a whole lot of character to both the clothes and the brand. Kathy's is especially enchanting. There's tea and cupcakes, balloons and lace, pretty wallpaper and vintage dresses! It's definitely feeding me inspiration for an upcoming lookbook I've agreed to shoot for a friend. Definitely check out 5678 Vintage on etsy when you have the chance, and to see all the photos from the lookbook, just visit Kathy's blog.

Sponsor Spotlight: 5-6-7-8 Vintage

Today's sponsor spotlight goes to one of my favorite bloggers/shop owners, Kathy of 5-6-7-8 Vintage (which you may remember from this giveaway a while back). I discovered Kathy's blog sometime last year and was smitten from the beginning. It's full of the loveliest outfits and the best thrift store photographs––or as the English call them, charity shops and car boot sales––and her etsy shop is equally enticing. I guess I should have started by saying don't rush to her etsy shop looking for those backpacks because you're only going to be disappointed. They aren't there anymore, but they are amazing, right? I saw them in her sold archives and had to share them in this post to show the types of things that are constantly cycling through her shop. So many good things! Everything else in this post is still for sale, along with a ton of other great dresses and purses, too!

Vintage Coat: Estate Sale $4
Tights: Zara: $15
Vintage Shoes: Saver's $6
Vintage Turban: Estate Sale $3
Double Knuckle Key Ring: F21 $3

Y'all didn't expect me to give that kitty bag away without styling it up first, did ya?

The 60's coat makes such a cheerful combo with that bag. I couldn't resist carrying it just once before sending it off! Who knows, the two pieces may have even been worn together sometime in the past. I found them both at that grand estate sale I was raving about a couple of days ago. I fell in love with the coat on the first day of the sale, but I had to leave it behind because I found too many other great things. I went back to on Sunday – the major 50% off discount day – and loaded up on a few more things. The coat needs a good cleaning and a few stitches around the pockets, but for $4 I really can't complain much.

It feels weird to post such a cold weather outfit just after I posted all those swimsuit photos. The weather is so neutral right now that I can basically wear whatever I want – a rarity here in the South. I had a cute 60's drop waist dress paired underneath, one that reminds me a lot of the Family Affairs dress I saw on both Rhiannon and Carrie this past week, but I decided it to save it for another day!

I finally got that new lens I was so desperate for after returning home from New York – a 50mm F/1.8. From the second Corey and I started using it, we were in love. It makes our photos so much easier and prettier! This set of photos was our first go with the new lens and needless to say, we're in love.

5-6-7-8 Vintage Giveaway

You guys probably think I'm insane with this massive header swapping I've been doing lately. I'm just so fickle when it comes to graphics! Nothing has felt right to me just yet so I suppose I'll leave this one up for a while, at least while I'm on my trip, and see if it doesn't stick. Opinions are welcome though!

Now I have someone to introduce you to.

This is my friend Kathy. She's from London and loves to thrift.
