Vintage Turban: Estate Sale $3
Double Knuckle Key Ring: F21 $3
Y'all didn't expect me to give that kitty bag away without styling it up first, did ya?
The 60's coat makes such a cheerful combo with that bag. I couldn't resist carrying it just once before sending it off! Who knows, the two pieces may have even been worn together sometime in the past. I found them both at that grand estate sale I was raving about a couple of days ago. I fell in love with the coat on the first day of the sale, but I had to leave it behind because I found too many other great things. I went back to on Sunday – the major 50% off discount day – and loaded up on a few more things. The coat needs a good cleaning and a few stitches around the pockets, but for $4 I really can't complain much.
It feels weird to post such a cold weather outfit just after I posted all those swimsuit photos. The weather is so neutral right now that I can basically wear whatever I want – a rarity here in the South. I had a cute 60's drop waist dress paired underneath, one that reminds me a lot of the Family Affairs dress I saw on both Rhiannon and Carrie this past week, but I decided it to save it for another day!
I finally got that new lens I was so desperate for after returning home from New York – a 50mm F/1.8. From the second Corey and I started using it, we were in love. It makes our photos so much easier and prettier! This set of photos was our first go with the new lens and needless to say, we're in love.

Well I'm glad you enjoy the 50mm, because it is amazing and for 100 bucks? Sweet deal. It's my default lens, I don't even use my wide lens anymore. Sad. But yeah the higher the aperture, the more bokeh there is! Bokeh is the best. I adore your '60s coat and that color is perfect for the fall. I kind of want a coat that color. I never liked orange very much, but now I'm in love!
you're absolutely right about these photographs! so lovely! what brand of lens/camera are you using?
this is just adorable! i am so in love with your coat and loafers <3 really lovely blog too, so following :) xxx

tHE SHOES.........I WANT!
You look adorable Starr! I love that coat, the colour is perfect on you too. I have a 50mm but I still haven't tried it out and it's getting frustrating. I think I need a perfect outfit to justify setting up photos where I can actually use that length considering my busy schedule. Seeing these has made me want to crack it out at all opportunities though.
hehe i bet the next time we're all in NYC, we're all going to be using our 50's (and standing super far away when taking photos hehe). ever since i got back from NYC, i haven't taken my 50mm lens off :)
you pull off a turban so well starr AND orange--not that i'm surprised though ;] i miss you!
This is such a cute outfit, I love the bright colours!! These pictures are beautiful too!

Another flawless outfit! I love all the little details on the coat, what a steal at $4! I really like the turban as well; I'm looking out for one for myself, but I don't want to buy it online - hats are one of those things that must be tried on before buying, at least for me.
lovely bag nice autumn colors.

Simply beautiful! That coat and bag are to die for! crazy about the ring too!
I absolutely love everything here, from the turban to the photos but especially the coat! It's so unfair as I am searching for a coat at the moment, but everything is ugly and expensive! You don't want to sell it to me do you? ; )
You are honestly an estate sale queen. You find the best stuff! The jacket is amazing on you! It compliments your eyes so well :]
And that new lens is amazing! LOVE the photos.

Yes isn't the 50mm f1.8 absolutely fantastic?!?! I can't stop taking pictures with mine too (goodbye kit lens). XDD
The photos are exceptional and I do love the fall palette.
i totally love your eye make up! :D
What a great outfit! Love love love the coat and the turban. If I would have seen you walk down the street like this I would have definitely stopped you to tell you that you look awesome.
SIGH, definitely need to invest in a better and faster lens. I'm debating on what, though. I have a great 35mm that works with my digital and film camera. But it's not quite a 1.8... I'm undecided between a 50mm prime and a 28mm prime.
