Field of Dreams

Dress: Target
Cardigan: c/o Magpie & Birdie
Bike Necklace: Modcloth
Heeled Jodhpur Boots: c/o Swedish Hasbeens
Belt: Thrift

This week has brought the most beautiful weather to Arkansas––blue skies + 70 degrees, it just doesn't get much better than that. I feel more rejuvenated and well rested than I have in weeks, and it just makes me wonder what my life would be like if the weather was like this all the time. It makes me feel so good inside and out, and it also makes me want to start playing the blues and dreaming about country livin' again–– more on that another day.

I took advantage of the weather earlier today and went out to one of my favorite deserted areas by the airport. All the houses have been torn down since the last time I visited, but someone was kind enough to leave a chair behind. Sometimes that's all you need to make a set of photos feel exciting and different for a change.

I wore this dress for some photos during the first month that I had my blog and then again later that fall. It's fun to go back and see how I wore it and the things I talked about in my posts!

Sync Day: The 70s Trend

It's Sync time again! This week I took to the streets with lots of 70s inspiration. I figured I'd start sharing some of my inspiration too, just so you get a better idea of the things I'm rambling about in my articles. I wish I would've taken more street style photos this week, but I didn't have much luck scouting out any bell bottoms or platforms on the streets of Little Rock. I'm going to have to start picking more realistic (for a smaller city) trends!
Sync Trends: 70s
The guys came through for me this week! Two matching corduroy pieces in one night. I was so thrilled to see it. I loved the color of the pieces too. I even included a photo of Wes Anderson above in honor of all that corduroy and the Fantastic Mr. Fox remark! To read the article, just click on the photo. Enjoy and let me know what you think. To check out the rest of the magazine, visit Sync Weekly and click 'digital edition' at the top right of the page.

Swedish Hasbeens: 70's Wedding

How authentically 70s are these shots from the latest Swedish Hasbeens campaign? I've spent the evening working on a project that pertains to the current 70s trend, so naturally, this set of photos was of particular interest to me! I think I'm most fascinated by the girl in the chocolate brown mini dress in the big family shot, and the groom in his unbelievable velvet blazer and over-sized bow tie. The shoes aren't so hard on the eyes either! I'm glad I waited on my first Swedish Hasbeens purchase when everyone else was getting them this past Spring, but I would eventually like to get a pair. They totally won me over with their story. . .

"Her name was Anita and she was the hottest mum in all of southern Sweden in the 1970’s. While smoking Camel she screamed at her kids until her curlers fell out and just looked fabulous in her white high-heeled clogs."

"One summer day in 2006 we found the shoes she wore (300 pairs of red, white and black beautiful clogs from the 70’s) in the basement of an old clog factory in the neighboring village and brought them to Stockholm. So for all these people that shared our love for Anita’s wooden shoes and for ourselves we started Swedish Hasbeens."
