Corey and I finally got together again for some photos this week! We made a short trip by Saver's first, so Corey could get some Polo's for work and so I could get teased by all the cute grandpa cardigans and pixie oxfords – you know I bought 'em – and then we made our way to the Old Mill.
By the time we got there, the sun was already too low to get any great shots of the actual mill. I'm not sure if I've talked about before, but the building was actually in one of the opening scenes of Gone With The Wind. According to this website, it's the only remaining structure from the movie! I did a post about it on my old blog, but I'm too embarrassed to send you there now. I promise I'll go back and get better photos of the building one day!
If it weren't for this deceivingly 30's polka dot blouse that Pretty Sunday sent over from the UK, I probably would have never thought to go to the Old Mill. It reminded me of an outfit that Ruby Keeler wore in 42nd Street. Since that movie was shot in the early 30's and the Old Mill was built in the early 30's, I thought that would be the best place to go. It was a strange connection that didn't make any sense in the end, since the Old Mill was constructed to look like it was from the early 1800's, but it was a connection nonetheless!

your shoes are so great
this outfit is divine! love the shoes, especially.
Yesterday I saw a similar blouse at the thrift store and walked away KNOWING I would regret not buying it.. & here you are, making a perfect outfit, & I'm regretting it!
I love these pictures! And that bridge, oh swoon!
Sorry about the deleted comment, I hate auto type for the iphone, messes things up.

You're absolutely lovely and I'm kinda jealous about the Savers trip...pixie boots are definitely on my mental wish list...
I also really love that you gave the typical Old Mill photos the touch of class that it deserves.

That polka dot ascot blouse is so good! I also want so many grandpa cardigans for fall and winter. Isn't it strange that the same company is called Value Village in Canada and Savers in the US?
That shirt is epic! Love it!

This outfit definitely reminds me of the Alexa Chung for Madewell collection except your shorts aren't velvet and the blouse is inverted in terms of the colors. :D i love it! i'm loving these photos too (especially the one of your shadow).
OH! and i got the skirt in the mail the other day! i can't wait to wear it. i'm trying to figure out how to wear it without hemming it first since once i hem it there's no going back...i think? haha plus, i'm lazy. :P
I love your polka dot blouse! Those shoes were such a good investment, they go with everything!
psh who needs an alexa chung polka dot top when you have that one?! it's gorgeous on you starr! you look so regal in that first shot!
AND i saw shoes like yours at zara and i immediately thought of you :)
Killer Oxfords!! That color is amazing, its such a deep, rich red.
Starr, you just rocked my sartorial world. love it. to bits and pieces... or should i say polka dots.

Gone with the Wind is my favourite movie of all time, so I truly appreciated this! I love the second shot by the way. I also have loved Ruby Keeler for a few years. she's so cute!
This movie is my favourite. So real and strong! this post resembles it perfectly. love from Ireland... =)

That is SUCH a pretty top, and your oxfords are killer! Beautiful photos.
I love the logic that inspired your mill visit... adventures are always a good thing!

I love your style, this is such a good look!

I love everything about this look, but the tiny tear in your stockings is my favorite part! I love seeing slight "flaws" as being something cohesive to what someone is trying to achieve (in art, music, clothes!) and making it all the more pretty.
This is divine! Love your blog, my first time here!

This may be one of my favorite outfits/posts you've done. I hope that doesn't come across as an insult because you have done some pretty amazing ones.. and I guess if I dug back through your archives I'd come up with 10 posts I love more.. but I'm lazy and for the sake of me trying to be nice, just go with this ok? I love the blouse, shorts, tights, purse, shoes, hair, light, setting, feel and that shadow silhouette killed me seeing as how I was still reeling from the second shot of you sitting in the window alcove. Hi beautiful.
ps.. thanks for posting my giveaway.. I'm still a little fussy we didn't get to chat more in NYC..if we both end up there this spring, I dibs at least 45 min of chat time every day.
