Blouse: Estate Sale
Shorts: Goodwill
Suspenders: Target
Shoes: Saver's
Hat: Estate Sale
Bow: Scrap Fabric

These are the 42nd Street-inspired photos I was talking about yesterday. If I really wanted to, I think I could come up with 50 different outfits inspired by that film since their were so many different female dancers and a handful of different practice scenes before the big show, but for this go around I chose to channel one of Ginger Rogers' looks. Her character had some really, really cute outfits, most often with a toy pup and a monocle as an accessory.  If only I had all that and a good pair of vintage suspenders!

I actually had some of this look styled for fashion week – minus the hat and the suspenders – but I thought the tap shoes might seem a little strange as I walked down the New York City street. Who knows, I might have received some tips!

You look great here Starr! This reminds me alot of the look Maria posted on jenloveskev today. I'm a huge fan of the suspenders.

You definitely could have pulled this off you in New York, and who knows you might even have gotten your photo snapped by the Sartorialist!

Love it! The shoes are great too- are they proper tap shoes? If so- is it possible to get tap bits taken off? x
