Jeans & A Gothic Cathedral

Gothic Doorway
550
Shirt: Saver's $6
Hat: Saver's $5
Jeans: Target $21
Shoes: Ebay $15 (I painted the sides and wing tips white)

You can tell it was an extra lazy weekend for me if I'm wearing jeans! It's a rarity for me to ever wear them, mostly because all I have is a bunch of F21 skinny jeans that make me feel like my sisters cat the time she got her head caught in a can of Campbell's soup—Jake had to pry her out with pliers before she suffocated—but I like this pair of high waist, wide legs I got from Target a few years ago. I hate that they stretch out when I sit down and that they fit in the legs but are too big in the waist, but they've got good color to them and are perfect for an occasional lazy day.

I've been riding my bike to take outfit photos a lot lately because I like the fact that it's small and discrete and allows me to drive right up to the spot I'm using. I've had my eye on this Gothic style, Catholic church for a while now, but I wasn't brave enough to stop until yesterday. Sure, it's nothing compared to Reims, Salisbury, or any of those other majestic churches that breathe the air of the heavens, but it's the closest thing I've got around here. Even with a modest portal and a less than interesting tympanum, I'm still quite fascinated with the deep carving of the facade, and it makes for a pretty good background in photos too!

I'm adding this picture a little late for Stacey who asked to see the shoes better. They're less than perfect which is why I didn't post them before, and I don't even know what kind of paint I used. It was just something my boyfriend had lying around the house from an old art class, and I had a few other pairs of oxfords, so I figured, why not!

Great spot for photos! And you make jeans look way better than the average lazy day jeans. I love the wide legs with the billowy blouse!

Ah, occasionally you need some jeans to fall back on...I scored not one, but two pairs of high-waisted jeans today, precisely for days like this!

Anddd, that looks like St.Edwards...I'm going to a wedding there soon! Now if I could just figure out what I'll wear (or what their wedding present will be!)
