Blouse: My Favorite Thrift Store $4
Shorts: Goodwill $3
Hat: Salvation Army $5
Espadrilles: Salvation Army $6
Necklace: Modcloth $28
Purse: Available in my shop!

I don't know where the week went, but somehow I'm just now getting around to the photos I took on Friday. I'm glad I hung onto these shorts instead of putting them in the shop with the 'Fly Away' collection because they've been a really great go to piece these past few days, and I especially like them with this 80's striped crop top. The fabric reminds me of Edwardian wallpaper, and the shape makes me think of some 40's silhouettes. The shorts were originally a pair of really long culottes, but I didn't think I could pull those off so I hemmed them up!

I also never got to tell you much about my visit with Sarah and her friend Ginny Lauren at White Water on Friday night. For those of you who don't know Sarah, she was one of the original vintage Myspace sellers before the blogging/etsy world blew up. You know back when it was just Bleubird, Mousvox, Spanish Moss, Twitch, Lullie, Mama Stone, and a few others? Well yeah, she was a part of the golden girls of vintage on ebay! I remember back in 2005 or 2006 being very curious about vintage and wanting to find some pieces of my very own, but I didn't really know how. I don't remember how it happened, but one day I found Sarah's shop on Myspace. At first I thought she made the clothes and was real confused as to how everything worked, but in just a few weeks I was an obsessed vintage stalker who knew all the different vintage sellers on Myspace. I guess it may sound silly, but I kind of credit Sarah for making me the person I am now! What was life before vintage/thrift? I didn't tell her this when I met her, but I took a handful of sewing classes back in 2008, and I used to draw a lot of her shop clothes for practice!

I hope she doesn't kill me for digging through her archives, but I wanted you guys to see some of the beauties that she used to sell. I actually bought the striped dress that's second from the bottom on the left, but I don't know what happened to it after our move.

Sarah looked absolutely adorable in her Dillard's bird print Miu Miu knockoff dress, and she totally made me regret not using Jake's Dillard's discount yet! I know you can find a few good things in there, but I had no idea they were carrying the items I've been drooling over for the past few months!

We spent the night hanging out at White Water watching their friend Cory Branan perform, and then we went to their hotel for a late night swim. We were worried we would get in trouble for swimming at 3 in the morning since the pool closed at 9, so we tried to be sneaky and jump the fence as quietly as possible. Just as I'm getting over the fence, two guys walk in through the gate on the other side. The thing was unlocked the entire time, and we looked like total goofballs trying to be sly.

Both Sarah and Ginny Lauren were the cutest, coolest girls who liked to use the camera as often as I do, and it made me wish they were around to play with all the time. At least they're still in the state though! Hopefully we'll be able to schedule more meetups or maybe even Memphis trips in the future.

Whoa, Myspace Ebay days!!!!!!!

It's so crazy how much the vintage scene has changed since then!

Your outfit is adorable--I see denim shorts like that in the thrift store but always get afraid to try to style them into an outfit. The way you styled yours makes me want to buy some next time!

I love your outfit pictures too, they're just amazing, and I agree, those shorts do have such a lovely 40s feel to them.

Her blue dress is from Dillards?!

Any idea if it's recent?

I'm gonna go stalk her on her blog.

I love the outfit! It reminds me of a 40's summer day. :)

I love all of those eBay shops. eBay is where I first discovered a lot of my vintage clothing. I have all the stores you named and the girls who run them to thank for it! So cool that you met up with them!

I really like your weave bag. I have started collecting some but I haven't found one that has that sort of clasp and handle.

Your blogger meet-ups seem so fun. I hope we can have them too here in Manila one day!
