Hwy. 5 Abandonded House II

Thanks for all the great comments on my photos yesterday. The house was pretty spectacular, but I really think I would have flipped if I had gone in alone and found all those handprints! Even though I liked the photos from yesterday, today's are a lot more my style. I somehow convinced Hannah to climb a tree in a dress which made for some of my favorite 'Hannah photos' ever. The girl is incredible... a photographers dream I tell ya!

On our way back towards Little Rock, Hannah spotted this couch in a field. I'm so glad she did because this is like my dream setting for photos, I've just never had a spare couch to abandon. We had to cross a big, muddy puddle full of giant tadpoles and walk through a thicket full of nasty thorns (that kept snagging my new dress) to get to it, but it was worth it. I just kept my dress high and let my slip catch the beating. A few bloody scratches on the knees and a single shoe lost in the mud (thanks for the rescue Hannah) was totally worth the memories we made!

I was real excited about these photos when Kent was taking them, but the white balance on his camera was off creating a heavy blue tint to the photos. I had to overwork them a bit in photoshop to get them looking decent, but I still really like the idea of the shot.

And one last special treat before we wrap up this abandoned house shoot...

I remembered to use the video camera when Hannah was trying to get out of the tree. She was stuck up there for a little bit, so when she finally made it down it was the funniest thing. Seriously, she's the most precious girl I know.

Once again, lovely photos.
Your friend is really pretty (and so is her dress!) and my favorite picture of her is the one where she's looking out the window.

Also, I would love to find an abandoned couch in the middle of field! Sounds like so much fun for a photo shoot.

Just beyond brilliant!!! How I wish I had my own little crew for photo taking. That one of your friend out on the branch of the tree is just fantastic, and the couch one, too, is pretty darn perfect

I can't tell you how much I love these pictures, they are so wonderful and interesting, and you make me so jealous of all the places that are abandoned by you! My town used to have old insane asylums...but thats not the same thing as these houses at all!

weird question - but has Hannah ever worked at the Gap in Park Plaza? She looks like a girl my friend Scott worked with.

Also - Lit Fest is around the 10th of April, so I'll be home then, and definitely checking out Blue Suede Shoes - that's long overdue!

Fantastic photos! I can't hardly even choose a favorite, though the two of you peering out the window is wonderful, and the hat alone in the tree is so fun and mysterious.

Too bad about your shoe getting taken by the mud though!!

Oh goodness that looks like the best tree to climb too. I love climbing trees. It is so beautiful where you live. It makes me want to get out of New Jersey badly. I love your outfits so much and these photos are just wonderful. You guys remind me of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn!

Haha, apparently I need to read over my comments better before I post them!

I meant to say, when I was 7 I would have loved that bedspread, not my 7 year old loves it.

Although I will admit, I do still have one of my popples, he now lives in my parents basement with all my other old toys!
