I've been hanging on to this sweater every since the height of my obsessive sweater search back in December waiting for it's match to come along. It's perfectly preppy with gold buttons randomly placed on the shoulders and chest with a simple ribbed collar and black stripes that I secretly wish were navy. I guess that's the only not-so-perfect part about it since my idea of preppy is navy and white, but who can really tell the difference anyway (and why do I have such silly rules)? It was fashion matrimony once I rescued my khaki skirt from the office chair it had been banished to for the past few weeks. I finally brought the hem to a desirable length, and within a matter of minutes I had it styled with my neglected winter sweater! I guess it's kind of obvious that brown accessories rule my wardrobe too, it's just that I love brown so much and really couldn't picture this look with anything else.

very cute!
Cute outfit! Haha, I just wrote a post on the preppy skirt & shirt combos from NY fashion week and then I found your blog!
You look like you should be heading off to the club for a round of golf. You could always do something similar with saddle shoes. Or a shrunken blazer and a striped tie. Ooooh and a big bow headband ala Blaire Waldorf!
I really like this! I love that you adore brown accessories, they are my fave to. The hat rocks!!!

Hah, hah, my husband loves that show. He even owns it on dvd...all of the seasons. Anywho, I love your outfit. You look like a pretty preppy girl that could appear at any moment in Rushmore:)
This skirt is soooo cute....and the perfect length! :)
For the record, the word preppy totally reminds me of SBTB too!

Totally loving this outfit!!! So pretty and nautical! Whoa a $1 Kodak camera bag? Sweet. You have the best clothes!
This outfit looks great on you. The knee highs and shoes are WONDERFUL!
ps: i had THE hugest crush on zach morris back in the day. I loved his blonde bowl cut.
You know your name sounds like a pseudonym. People would die to have your name as their real name! Starr is very pretty and I like that there are 2 r's.
Yay we could be long lost twins!!! Could I please do a blogger feature on you please. I'll introduce you as my long lost twin! I probably won't be able to get to it soon... because I have a lot of my plate. But when I have the chance, I'll interview you, if you're interested!
What kind of video camera did you get? I haven't heard of Ellen von Werth, but I love the sound of whimsical and dreamy. I love Erin Fetherson, so sounds like something I'd appreciate. I'll check her out.
Are you a film student? :)
i love the color palette and tone of these photos, it's so lovely and old-fashioned...
Great sweater! Your socks are even pretty- they have great detail that make this an even lovelier outfit.

Oh I love this so much! The colors are amazing, from the skirt to the socks and shoes! And that sweater is lovely, I love the preppiness/nautical vibe!
You killed it with this look! I love how you paired the skirt with the sweater. Oh and is it lame I still watch Saved by the Bell? I watched it this morning:)
love the socks and the skirt
love the socks! Great outfit!
You pull this off so well without looking nerdy. I love it. You look great in the sock/oxford combo as well.
Love this outfit, the hat and the socks are adorable!xxx
i'm loving those socks and i've never seen a more perfect bag for this outfit! i'm always so jealous of your great deals. nothing you're wearing was over $10 (except those f21 shoes that i'm still deciding whether or not to get - i'm so tempted).
I adore your style so so much !
Love this outfit!! cute but preppy :)

oh man. Yeah I actually walked around in those shoes and I said to myself, "never again!" because they gave me a blister. It was just not fun. I hope that someone who CAN fit them will be able to enjoy them in every way. Right now I just look at them. . .rather than wear them.
Maybe you and I both got the same remote for our cameras. What type of camera do you use? I use a Pentax K100D, myself. I look forward to seeing more of your photos, but they are always wonderful to look at. I don't comment too much because I am sure your mailbox gets overloaded. I will try to do so more though now. Thanks for stopping by.
so cute outfit...
i love the thirt..:)
Somehow the colour brown looks so perfect on you, it tends to look dull and lifeless when I wear the colour lol! I love your preppy outfit too, you look like you came out of a retro magazine:)
xx
Very nice outfit. You are so pretty.
Anyway, would you mind to exchange button/link with me?

Take care.
I just love your style! It's so full of vintagey goodness.
Thank you so much for the very sweet comment. It really helps to know that I have so many wonderful blogger friends such as yourself. :)
everything about this outfit fits perfectly together. i love that sweater! "preppy" has kind of a negative connotation in my mind, but this interpretation is just slouchy & understated enough to demolish the uptight-big-bank-account stereotype i would otherwise assign to the term.
love love love this look. well played :)
Love that skirt and sweater!! Always adore a classic preppy look.

Zach Morris would be proud. I love this, especially with those fab socks!
Totally diggin' the knee socks!
I want this outfit so bad... I have to follow you now. :)!!!
xx Love & Aloha.
I'm really looking forward to wearing high kneed socks. They look great with your outfit!
