I'm sorry I've reached such an all time low in blogging lately. I've been busy/slightly uninspired (because I've been too busy to visit your blogs), and I really just haven't wanted to post my outfits, even when I've already taken the photos.
It's not until I read all your comments that I miss it. Especially the ones from you guys who keep coming back even though I haven't returned the favor; that means a lot. Thanks for the motivation and the little push I've needed to get though this December, I'll try to get back to normal once the holidays are behind me.
Now for some long overdue outfit photos!

Now for some long overdue outfit photos!
I made a date with my tripod for a trip to the Little Rock National Cemetery on Sunday. After exploring around in unfamiliar territory near my house a few weeks back I discovered a civil war marker that led me to it. With some research, I learned the cemetery was once a Union encampment purchased by the government in 1866. It was used to inter any Union soldier who died in the state of Arkansas.
In 1884, a Confederate cemetery was built directly adjacent from the Union cemetery, and it wasn't until the late 30's that the two were combined into one large cemetery making sure to keep the Union and the Confederate soldiers in their designated areas. The cemetery now encompasses 31.7 acres with a total of 25,172 interments.
To be honest with you, I was a little overwhelmed when I pulled up. Let's just say, I'm not a crier, and I was tearing up. I realize not all the graves are those of soldiers, but seeing that many markers just makes you hate war that much more.

military cemeteries are always a little unnerving, rows and rows of graves, so uniformly white, it seems endless

Beautiful photos, and I love your shoes. I'm from Northern Virginia and today we took a drive through the countryside, the exact same countryside where the Revolutionary War was fought. It's has an interested effect on you. I'm a new visitor here, and I love your blog. Annie.
I love your shoes! They are fantastic.
I am huge history lover so I really liked this post. My family and I have traveled all over the country seeing different historical landmarks and places so, I have sort of always been into it.

You don't seem uninspired at all--your outfits feels quite inspired in fact. And I know what you mean about cemeteries like that making you hate war all the more, especially with all the BS happening right now with Afghanistan.
You look great lady, and thanks for the post!

Your outfit certainly looks inspired to me! It's actually my favorite recently. I love clothing that is menswear-inspired. Such a perfect coat with that striped sweater. I love the specks of brown in your outfit against the taupe.
And that cemetery would overwhelm me as well. It's so unreal to think that so many are laying in the ground. So much history is there.
I would like to wish you Merry Christmas!!!
xoxo

your wingtips are haute - love that you did a bit of diy to personalize them...
I love this bag. Which actually reminds me that I recently bought a bag that reminded me of something you might wear. It seems lady-like-vintage-inspired, I say inspired because it was bought at F21 haha. It is little straw contraption with a long gold chain link strap.
Isn't it funny how you feel like you get to know the bloggers that you read? Maybe I'm just a loser like that but I find myself thinking - wow, A Thought Is The Blossom or Second Skin or This Time Tomorrow would wear this.
