While I'm working hard all week trying to pull my etsy grand opening together I want to give you guys a wee little teaser of what's coming to the shop. This outfit actually isn't for sell, but it went so well with the theme (hint, hint) that I wanted to show it off a bit.
I made the playsuit at the beginning of last year (when I was obsessively into bikinis and playsuits from the 40's and 50's) using a 1960's swimsuit pattern I picked up at some crappy yard sale that was advertised to be much better than it was. The seersucker was a bad choice of fabrics for a quality swimsuit, but it was the perfect choice for a cute, nautical playsuit! It was one of the first (and last) things I sewed since I'm such a horrible seamstress, and of course I got frustrated at the quality of my work and abandoned it before it was finished. It's really too poorly done to save it now, but looking at these photos makes me want to break that pattern back out and give it another go...
