Parlor Shots and Lipstain

Dress: Goodwill
Shoes: Topshop
Socks: Target
Hat: c/o Romwe
Necklace: Modcloth

I tried a lipstain out like a lot of you recommended. I can't believe I'm about to say it but I think I'm SOLD. My biggest issue with lipstick before was the fact that I could feel stuff all over my lips, but with the lipstains you really don't have that problem. I tried Cover Girl's lipstain in 'plum pout', and I'll admit, I was iffy at first. Posting a photo on instagram proved to be a good idea though, because everyone made me feel so confident about it. Thank you guys! The color isn't nearly as vibrant in these shots, probably because of the edit, but it's a whole lot of lip for a newbie, I can assure you. But I'm starting to love it.

I feel silly posting identical shots over and over again, but my tripod is in a weak state right now so I'm in a pickle, forced to set it up and leave it alone. Hope you don't mind the redundancy! So anyway, here are some shots of me in my parlor, wearing lipstain and the perfect cotton dress that I've been trying to hunt down at the thrift store for years. Don't mind Monkeycat; she was just feeling a little left out!

I used to use lip stain a long time ago, you've convinced to give it another try-- I have the same sentiments about lipstick.

Your kitty is super adorable and looks right at home in your style shots. Love your big floppy hat too!

super cute and simple outfit! i really adore your shoes, too.

i'm pretty sold on the lipstain too! the only slight problem i had with the covergirl brand was how dry it felt immediately, but good thing i'm kind of a fiend with lipgloss.

The lipstain looks great on you :) Also I used to have a dress just like that and I wore it so much it stopped being black and turned to an awful greenish shade and I had to get rid of it. Sad times.

Super pretty! I've always been a reluctant lipsticker too, but finally found some that I love and can't remember life without! (It was Clarins; I'm always such a cheapskate on make-up, but for me upgrading to a mid-range brand really made the difference). : )

I love me some lip stain too. You might want to try Benetint too some day. It comes in a light gloss form but its fantastic:)

And the way you framed yourself in the door way perfectly is wonderful. I never would've thought to do that with my indoor photos.

Love, love, LOVE that green shrink couch! Really enjoying the shoots inside your home :) While I'm not a lipstick person, I'm glad you now are as it really works with those eyes (as I mentioned on instagram :)!! Maybe I should give some stains a try someday...

Lipstains are great. If you have the body shop over there they do a fuchsia one that is the best I've ever tried. Love the red socks too!
