Pinnacle Mountain

Boots: Thrifted
Vest: Courtesy of Langford Market
Hat: Goodwill

I went to Pinnacle Mountain with my friend Hannah a few weeks ago. My two best girl friends are both named Hannah, and in this case, I'm talking about the one that you guys don't know yet; we work together at the hotel. She called and asked if I'd like to hang out, and I thought it would be a good time to sneak away to Pinnacle Mountain to scout out a location for some upcoming photos.

As you can guess, I've been wearing this dress a lot lately. I absolutely love it. It was an expensive Urban Outfitters purchase that I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I spent so much money on, but my splurges are so infrequent that I take them when I feel an overwhelming love for something. I have no regrets about this dress.

We started the trip by hitting up the visitors center. It overlooks the Arkansas River which was actually quite high from all the rain we got last month. The whole place was chock-full of taxidermy which was okay with me since I've always been such a huge fan of it. We poked around and took as many pictures as we could before turning our sights to the trails. It was hot so we didn't go far, but I was glad to have visited that particular spot. The bluffs were a sight, towering so high over the most beautiful clear water. There were paddle boats available for rental too, which had me most excited. We didn't play around in the water then, but I plan to go back sometime this summer for a more organized round of photos.

The dress and boots remind me of how I used to dress in high school in the mid nineties. Love it! And these pics are making me miss Arkansas.

That dress and those boots-- oh my God, I'm in love with this outfit-- I feel like hiking into the deepest forest and taking a camera and a journal. I love this, and that place you're in looks incredibly dreamy.

I always love your posts, Starr; they're so atmospheric. And you're making me rethink maxi dresses. I'm not concerned about looking short... more wide, but you look so elegant and fluid in yours.

Wonderful photos, your maxi really suits the natural, woodsy feel of your post! Also, there is nothing wrong with splurging a little, sometimes quality should come first :D

These are some of my favourite photos I have seen in ages. Love the slightly nomadic element to this outfit, and the dress was definitely worth the splurge. Plus the location looks really interesting and is seriously making me want to go on holiday.
