Frocks & Socks

I met up with Hannah K again for pictures last week! I've been wanting to try her in some of my smaller dresses for a while now, so that's what we played around with for this shoot. One of the dresses was a gift from Jenny of Fashion for Writers last summer. She sent me a package full of some really nice things, including a pretty, pale pink dress that's far too small for me. I was flattered that she thought I was an extra small but also sad that I wouldn't be able to wear it. Regardless, Jenny insisted that I keep it to sell in my etsy shop or to give to a friend. I haven't done either, but I did finally photograph Hannah wearing it!

The other dress is a great 60s party frock that I picked up for a few bucks at Saver's years ago. Sadly, it's never really fit me perfectly. I was always tempted to sale it in my shop, but I don't know, I guess I just like it too much to let it go. I think Hannah looks adorable in it.

Ozone Socks sent over a few different pairs of socks for me to try out, to see how I liked them and how I could style them. I thought that would be a fun project for me and Hannah to tackle together. Their selection of one-of-a-kind designs is impressive, and you wouldn't believe how excited I was when I stumbled upon their design competition! They supply you with a sock template and you're supposed to come up with your own design for a chance to win $250. I was running around telling all of my graphic designer/artist friends when I discovered it!

My opinion on the socks: they were comfortable and sturdy and a good product as far as quality goes. As for the styling, I probably had the most trouble with the floral ones. I wasn't sure what to put them with at first, but in the end, I was pleased with the results. I think a style challenge is fun every now and then!

You take such beautiful pictures. You should think about selling your curves or actions, I would definitely buy some!

Also love your tote in the bottom pic x

Oh Starr! These photos are beautiful! The dress reminds me of NY almost a year ago now and how sad I am that I won't be in NY this September, and I wonder if you are still planning a trip to NY this July? My internet has been so spotty that the only time I ever get to check your blog is when I'm at a friend's house or sometimes when I'm at one of the parks in Paris that has free wifi! And that's far too infrequent for me! I love your photoshoots, and I love love that you paired those floral socks with the dress I sent you! It looks amazing! I love it when socks curl up and hit right above the ankle--super super cute! Much love,

Jenny

I love the dress that's brown with the green floral print. And the green socks with the brown shoes complement the dress perfectly. Lovely.
