Fashionable girls go to college too.

A while back the kind people at Campus Book Rentals asked me to do a post about their online textbook company. At first I was iffy. I thought, you know, this is a fashion blog and my readers would think I was nuts if I did a post about textbooks. Then I kept thinking more about it. Even though this is a fashion blog, fashion-loving people do go to school too and textbooks play a huge factor into their budget. If books cost too much money, then that means they get to buy less back to school clothes, right? Online textbook rentals is kind of a new thing, but I've tried it once before and I can vouch that it's an absolutely brilliant idea.

A) It's cheaper because you're only renting them, not buying them.
B) You don't have to worry about your book being worthless as the end of the semester.
C) You don't have to hold onto books that you don't care about –– you can always buy the ones you do care about.
D) For every book rented they donate a portion to Operation Smile, an organization that performs cleft lip operations on children whose families can't otherwise afford it.

Anyway. Sort of a random post for a fashion blog, but I jut want all my college buddies to know that things have changed and you don't have to buy your textbooks anymore. Now you can rent them at Campus Book Rentals for nearly half the price. It's a pretty easy process too! If you have any questions feel free to ask me and I'll do what I can to help.

Actually, that would have been very helpful during my degree. The amount of stupid, about-to-go-out-of-date books I had to buy... and I think I only got about $60 back total during my entire degree, plus standing in line for ages to return them...

Plus, less clutter!

It would have been great to have a service like that back when I was in school. And I love the school spirit inspiring vintage pictures you posted. I belong to a flickr group that has all vintage school photos and I love it!
