Stop Staring

Dress: c/o Stop Staring
Scarf: c/o Magpie & Birdie
Socks & Shoes: Saver's

I usually try to hide my face behind my hair. I don't have the best complexion in the world, and my insecurities about it force me to wear my hair down a lot. I swallowed my pride yesterday and stuffed all my hair under a colorful headscarf. I've been wanting to wrap a turban on my head for weeks now, I just haven't had the guts to do it. I finally secured it just like I wanted and went with it!

The dress came courtesy of Stop Staring and I honestly couldn't be more pleased with the style and the fit. I'm a curvy girl and this dress didn't make me feel that way at all! The material is nice with a little bit of stretch to it and though the design is a little out of my usual taste, I'm really happy that they sent me this one. I love it. If you're looking to by a good vintage style dress, I definitely recommend browsing their shop.

Corey and I went by another historic cemetery to take these photos yesterday. I didn't get the name of the cemetery, but I felt I should at least give it a mention since I have so many headstone shots!
Photos by Corey!

usually can't comment because my babies are crawling all over me, but had to today to let you know that you look stunning with your hair up. don't even stress out over your complexion, doll, you look lovely. my best advice to a younger gal like yourself (from an old fogey of 32, like myself) is to say "fuck it" to all you insecurities. because you will look back on these pictures and i guarantee you will want to kick yourself directly in the shin for ever thinking you were anything but perfect and beautiful.
thanks for being so inspiring!

You look simultaneously elegant and quirky! The trim on the dress is so cool and I love how you matched the socks to the blues in the scarf!

this is amazing. it reminds me of grey gardens, but maybe in the beginning, before the ladies lost their minds completely :)

wearing your hair up like that really makes your eyes stand out--you're lovely!

Excellent headscarf/shocks shoes co-ordinating! And good for you for trying something new - the turban suits you.

That dress fits you like a glove! And I like your hair all back, makes your eyes pop! This is such an amazing look. I love the look but I think if I tried it I might look like a little kid in her moms clothes instead of the sophisticated lady you are! You look wonderful.

That dress looks perfect on you and I absolutely adore the turban. You look just as great with your hair up as with it down - which is pretty darn good in my book :D

Great outfit! I love it so much! The blue socks reflecting the blue in the turban is genius. The tree in the photos is very haunting and way cool.

I have a bad complexion and break out a lot as if I were 17 all over again. I have a lot of zit scars but i photoshop them most of the time unless they aren't noticeable. This outfit of yours is so gorgeous and I'm going to feature it today as Modest Outfit inspiration of the day http://rubyeyedokapi.tumblr.com and later on in the weekend at my own blog. I loved loved loved this entry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is such an amazing outfit! Totally unexpected and original, combining the leopard with the scarve and the bright blue socks. Definitely going in my inspiration file :)

Also, totally understand the complexion-thing. I never wore my hear up when I was a teenager and I've only recently got rid of my bangs for the exact same reason...
