Vintage Cameras

I think I need somebody to pinch me right now, because I can't even believe this post is real. A few days ago, my boss (from the hotel) text me to say that he had picked up some vintage cameras from his moms house in Florida, and that he wanted me to have them. I was thinking two, maybe three cameras, so when I got work a few days later and saw that there were SIX vintage cameras in all, complete with their original manuals and everything, I was beyond excited! I still can't believe that someone would just hand all of these treasures over to me. Time to start digging on Ebay for some film.

If you're reading, THANK YOU so so so much, LEE!

Congrats to Kenzie Faith! You're the winner of the Shopbop.com giveaway. Thanks to everyone who entered! You guys made that my biggest giveaway ever.

Wow!! Lucky Girl!! My husband and I have been building our vintage camera collection for about 4 years now, and none of them are as in good condition as though! You did good!!

These are beautiful. These would look so beautiful even sitting on a mantlepiece, but the fact that they work, and have their original manuals, is out of this world. I can't wait to see what you achieve with them!

Wow, lucky! I have an Argus and a Brownie that I bought on Etsy and they are great! I haven't figured out how to do TTV with my new SLR but I hope to soon! Can't wait to see some of the pictures you get from these!

Awesome! I have a Brownie Hawkeye just like that, that I picked up at a yard sale for $1! Unfortunately mine didn't have the flash.

A helpful hint, they don't sell film for it anymore, but you can buy it specialty OR! Buy 120 film and spool it onto a 620 spool. In mine, the 120 spool fits in the "In" slot but not in the "out." If you do that, just make sure to rewind the film back on to the 120 spool because you might not get your 620 one back and they can be hard to find!!

That Argus is VERY interesting! What does it take? 127? It looks small to take 120 film.

Have fun!

That's awesome! Those sx-70 cameras are worth a bit of $$$ so you've got yourself a treasure! The impossible project has sx-70 film...which is kind of hit or miss in the camera I have.

these cameras are great fun!

Anja Verdugo said...

If you ever needed to, you could sell that SX-70 for at least $100 if it's working properly! Oh, and I think someone else said so too, but the Impossible Project film for SX-70 is really hard to use. I had a horrible time with it, and even my polaroid expert film said it was a huge pain in the ass to get it to turn out at all. I definitely recommend spending more and getting some of the old style film on ebay!

This is unbelievably awesome!!! I started thinking about starting up a vintage camera collection but I have no space left whatsoever in my tiny student room. I'll wait till after graduation because I am really excited to take pictures with those kinds of cams!

What a wonderful collection! Your so lucky :)

I have a few polaroids myself! I don't think you'll find film for the landcam, I think they stopped making it over 10 years ago or something. In any case, they look AWESOME! Congrats

Oh man, these are seriously great! I bet the expired film, if you manage to find any, will crank out some seriously cool photographs!

If anything, these babies would look awesome on display for all to see.
