19th Century Nostalgia

I suppose the western theme may be getting a tad bit annoying by now – I'm sincerely sorry if this isn't your thing– but dude, the phase I'm going through is serious and I'm not doing anything but rolling with it! I was inspired by a brilliant photo from Suze of Hold Your Breath, to photograph some of the random things from around my house in the most clean and orderly way. Of course, with my love for the nineteenth century being at it's all time high, I decided to collect all the things that reminded me of that time in history, and boy was there a bunch to choose from. I guess the Brownie camera is a bit of an exception since it wasn't around at that point in time, but it sure did tie up the corner nicely.

I'm ashamed that I still haven't posted the DIY shirt that I printed, especially since I already told you all about it, but in case you were wondering, the photo on the left with the man holding the gun is what it looks like!

Love this. Have you seen True Grit yet? Hot damn, I loved that movie. Please please do a day where you dress up like Halley (Hailey?) from True Grit.

I like how you put the items on a beige background. 1, it makes it look like a curio cabinet! 2, It takes away from the mustiness of old stuff. I live in an old wooden cabin from the 1910's, so if I fill it with old things, it starts getting a bit too dusty and dark.

Yeah, it's hard to get tired of this old stuff. It has such a great texture and it's history. It's very interesting and this little collection is really cool, I love that old bird cage and the photos.

I cant stop obssessing over this! Seriously, the placement...the items. It's perfection! I noticed someone wrote about True Grit, I was going to ask the same thing! Haha you'll be truly and inspired (and laughing tons) if you haven't seen it yet. Will probably want to own all her clothing as well. Haha
