Japanese Streets

I spent some time lurking around the Japanese Streets website the other day. It's ridiculous how obsessive my clicking got by the end – I went through all 60-something pages. The Harajuku look isn't so much my thing, but the hope that I'd come across a really good outfit like one of the ones above kept me going. I told you before that I haven't always been into Japanese fashion, but I'm really starting to appreciate their ability to layer. I guess (in my humble opinion) some of them over do it, but if that's what they like, why stop it?

My favorite look is the one with the squirrel sweater and the fur collar, and the one with the Bonnie and Clyde looking beret and dress! Which look is your favorite?

Gosh, I LOVE Japanese street style. When I was in high school, it inspired me to start dressing more fashionably. My favorite is probably the second one - the fur collar and the squirrel are just so funny and cute.

Hello!!
I love your blog so much! I just recently went through all your archives and i must say that yours is one of the loveliest blogs i have come across! I do not have one of my own, but i hope to soon.

My favorite look is most definitely the green dress. I love it paired with tights and riding boots. and that brown book-bag is amazing!

I love Japanese street style too! I went to Japan when I was 16 and stayed in Osaka. The fashion was amazing. I remember going to a mall and being bombarded with bright colors everywhere - in the clothes, the shoes, everything. They all dress so interestingly, and it's really adorable! Thanks for posting!

Green dress all the way! :)
Japanese style is so unique and inspiring, there's so much to learn from these ladies, first of all the way they seem not to mind what people think at all :)

Sometimes I think (opinion alert) that Japanese style can be too cartoony. But really, I also admire it so much for the way Japanese women layer, their use of neutrals and basics to create awesome texture in their outfits, and generally, their sense of adventure and elegance in their style.

A new blog of a girl who is Chinese but lives in Japan: tinytoadstool. Google it, and check it out! This girl is amazing!

I'm a big fan of Japanese street style. While a lot of the various styles and themes they play upon are not something I personally would wear, I'm still enamored by how socially acceptable so many different looks are with our friends to the East.

It's a funny thing, when I was in High School I always thought the Japanese girls were the most stylish around, but after a while I kind of fell out of love with this style. I think I got so much into a "quality over quantity" kick, and a lot of Japanese clothes tend to be pretty cheap, and to look like a slightly not-getting-it take on a Western idea. I realize this opinion can make me unpopular in blogland!

Having said that, I do really like the look of the girl in the green dress... : )

I like the white dress in the fifth look, as well as the white handbag in the 6th. Streetstyle sites are addictive, right?
