Aqua Girl

More fashion love from the other side of the world! This time it's from Japanese label, Aqua Girl. The only bad thing about falling in love with all these Japanese collections is that I have no idea how much 44,100円(税込) translates to in dollars. It sure looks expensive though! I'm sure I could find similar items at the thrift stores here in the Arkansas, but I will definitely be looking to Aqua Girl for styling inspiration!

I love these looks! THey remind me of retro British inspired fashion. I think you're right about searching the second hand shops; this is how most of my shopping is done :) I get inspiration from classic movies, fashions mags and or books- from all eras- then I search the used clothing stores for my looks. I wish I had good camera so I could share or blog about my finds!

When I was in Japan (4yrs ago now) 100 yen was about a dollar...so perhaps $441. Love the clothes & the styling.

Oh aquagirl is one of my most favorite shops! 44,100円(税込) means 44,100 yen (including tax), which is around 525 dollars. They have the cutest clothes from various local and international labels. Some of them are a bit too pricey but I always love their styling.

Oh, lawddd...based on some of the comments...these are super luxe! EEEP! I (I mean my mom) just recently found a plaid cape...now I have an idea how to style it.

I really like the first dress with the contrasting pockets. Inspiration, gimme gimme!!!

Rebecca had it right - I was in Japan a while back (also studied the language for 6 years!) and 100 yen was roughly a dollar. Just did the conversion right now and 44,100 yen equals $526.69 :)

You can convert lots of different currencies at xe.com! I use it all the time! Very helpful for when I start getting into a "a pound is a dollar is a euro is a canadian dollar" mood. Uh, no...

These clothes are really cute, but for some reason I've always felt a bit strangely about the super-cute Japanese fashions. So often it looks like it's channeling its own idea of Westernness, or even vintage, in cheap fabrics and missing something. It's a bit like when Madonna was alway dressing in tweed like an English lady. Maybe I'm just weird though?
