Playgrounds & Magical Parties

rmmblog1
My sister and I had a great 'big kids' play day in the River Market last week. We initially went down to take outfit photos for the blog, but somehow we just ended up playing the entire time. We each went down the slide once – though the photos of her falling were far funnier than the ones of me awkwardly nailing the landing – I rolled around in the grass, and she braved the water spouts that shot from the ground. It was fun to have a subject to photograph with no stressful agenda, outfit changes, or bigger projects in mind like I used to deal with for etsy photos.

Don't you just love her new owl tattoo? It was loosely based off of this print I gave her for Christmas. I know I've told you before, but for those of you who don't know, she's owl-obsessed! She's actually just animal-obsessed. She just got her first tattoo a few months ago – a crow on her left arm, since that's our last name – and right after that she got a pretty rad lion on her wrist. At this rate, she'll be covered within a year! I still haven't been brave enough to get my first tattoo, but I already know what I want if I ever do get one done – a penny farthing bike ridden by a Charlie Chaplin lookin' man, smoking a pipe and tipping his bowler.

I finally have the answer to the mysterious celebrity guessing game I had you play the other day too – you know, the one about the hotel guest? Well, it turns out that you girls are pretty smart and almost all of your guesses were correct. Indeed it was Frances Ford Coppola! When I found out he was coming to town, I flipped. It's bananas how much I love Sophia, and since he's the only reason she exists, I got excited. I love his work too, but my love for Sophia's films is at a totally different level. He was in town to pick up his private jet from Falcon, a company that apparently makes a lot of celebrity jets.

Though it was in the middle of my shift, I happened to walk up to the front of the restaurant just in time to see Mr. Coppola walk into the hotel. It was a very small celebrity sighting but exciting nonetheless!

In other news, I was invited plan a magical party for Rebecca's blog, The Clothes Horse. I've been reading Rebecca's party interviews for quite some time now, so it was a great honor when she asked to interview me too. The questions took a lot more creativity than a normal interview, but it was fun to immerse myself into a fairytale party. I think I got a little too lost in wonderland because I started writing in the past tense, and now I'm afraid I didn't answer the real questions and sounded like a big goob! Oh well, there's no going back now. If you want to take a trip in my imagination, feel free to go read the interview.

Also, for one final bit of business, I was also invited to answer a few questions for Tea Time Tuesday on Morgan's blog, Blackbird Fly. Feel free to go check those out too!

Ah, I've been yearning for a good outing with my sissy for quite some time now...I can't help but feel a slight twinge of jealousy. So, I need to convince that workaholic to lay off makin' pizzas for a weekend! Enough is enough. Thanks for the reminder.

I read that interview the other day and loved it so much!!! Mary Poppins getting drunk and dancing on the table was a highlight for me. So you definitley didn't sound like a goob. And your sis' tattoo is awesome! I'm thinking about getting a small owl silhouette tattoo somewhere, just not sure when.
