Mad Men Inspired: Zodiac Skirt

 Photos by Corey!
50's Blouse: Ebay
60's Zodiac Skirt: Wolfe Street Thift
Michael Kors Heels: Saver's
Belt: Goodwill
Vintage German Books: Free from the language lab at school!

This is an outfit I've been wanting to wear for a long, long time now. I styled it back in May or June for an Etsy photoshoot that ended up being cut short. The temperatures got too high and the photos weren't turning out, so we packed it up and called it a day.

I'm glad it worked out that way because I really do love the skirt which I was planning to sell. I don't think the zodiac print is quite as cheesy as I used to and I really like the colors and the length. Ever since I saw this Mad Men-inspired shoot, I've been wanting to recreate it. It was probably this extra-feminine inspiration post from Jennifer that actually made me get it done!

It was a really pretty day when we left to take these photos, but it wasn't long before the sun tucked itself behind a massive storm cloud. I have to thank Corey for being so patient and helping me get at least a couple of good photos before the storm hit!

Oh my god, you're so beautiful Starr! I love your hair tied back in a half ponytail. I wish I had wavy hair like you so I could pull off something like that. Instead I have the misfortune of having limp, thin strands that have somehow (thanks to the magic of the calcified water in France) formed into a terrible rats nest. Proof of this horror show to come soon. You look absolutely beautiful in your Mad Men inspired outfit. I was laughing in terror and shock at the season finale. Oh boy.

I'm really digging long, full skirts this Fall, and that zodiac print makes this one especially lovely! Plus, your photos are always so stunning; I love the pic of you sitting on the grass reading a book!

And um, if you ever want to sell that skirt, let me know... ;)

You look beautiful! I especially love your hair like this. I'm so, so jealous you can pull off a long skirt like this! I'm too curvy for that & it just makes me look short & stumpy!

That skirt is so unusual, these photos are great too, they really feel likr a magazine editorial.

Zodiac skirt?! Amazing. I adore this whole look.

I've been wanting to do a post about the Mad Men finale but I hate to post spoilers for people who haven't seen it yet. :)

You styled this skirt perfectly. A crisp white shirt was the perfect choice to accompany this skirt. It would look cheesy on anyone else, but the simplicity of this draws all of the attention to the skirt!
