Crochet Collars & Southern Porches

Photos by Corey!
Dress: c/o Shop Dixi
Shoes: Madewell
Vintage Collar: Estate Sale

I had this collar listed in my Etsy shop for a few months before I realized that I wanted to keep it. I bought it at an estate sale last winter but it never seemed to work it's way into any of my outfits. That's why I eventually put it in the shop. I guess my taste changed a lot since last winter, because it's turning out to be one of my favorite accessories lately.

I wish I had more to say about this pretty dress from Shop Dixi or my favorite Southern porch that Corey and I snapped these photos at, but my mind seems to be lost on brainstorming ideas for my new job – I can't wait to tell you more about it – and thinking about how many more classes I have to take before I graduate – I had a very depressing advising appointment today. Fashion is taking a backseat for now. Hopefully I'll be back to normal tomorrow!

Wow! I thought that was a beautiful dress, but it is even more amazing with the option of wearing the collar or not! Such a pretty one too!
I'm looking forward to finding out about your job :D
These photos are so perfectly southern!

So jealous...what a great estate sale find! I love the photo of you through the glass.
I am so excited to hear all about your new job. You seem like such a busy bee these days, but it is awesome that you have still been updating, I have been totally hopeless about it!

i'm so glad you showed these photos. i have a couple little collars like this that i have scored over the past couple years and can never work them into my outfits! my necklines are always too lowcut i think...but now that fall seems to FINAllY be here, maybe i can figure something out. i love the flack floral print with cream lace, reminds me of little girls dresses, haunting in a big gothic window somewhere in the filmy gap between realities. LOVE!

Your photos are just so fabulous right now! I wish I could borrow Corey to take my outfit photos! I'm glad you kept that collar. I had my eye on it for a while but decided not to purchase because of the sorry state of my bank account. So, I'm glad I can live vicariously through you. Love, A.

Aw, I have a collar that's similar to this but I never know how to wear it either. Hmm, still in my jammies this morning, perhaps I'll conjure up a similar outfit using yours as a foundation. Thanks, Starr!

The dress, the collar, the shoes, and the photos are all fabulous! I used to hate advising interviews. They decided to tell me a few weeks before I was to graduate that I couldn't one time. Massive storms of protest all round. Good luck!

head to toe perfection and I love the setting for the photos. That is one thing I miss about the south, the porches!

Holy batman. You continually blow me away with your style. I love it alot. I have an old lace collar from my great-great-grandmother in my closet. I'm too afraid to ever wear it, but maybe I'll bust it out for some photos.

Don't think too much about how many more classes you have to go! It's not healthy. ;) What's your major?
