It's another guest blog post for me today, and this time I'm writing for Desiree's blog, Distinctly Desiree, about the beautiful town of Argenta and the fate of the Argenta Drug Co. in the photos behind me. It turns out that building may be slipping away from me just like those old abandoned houses in yesterdays post, but I made an effort to keep this one a little less depressing than the post I wrote for Amanda's blog. I don't want to build up a reputation of being the blog that makes everyone cry!

Oh, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels sentimental about that kind of stuff. I feel that away about anything old, I hate that feeling of it slipping away....
Anyway. Arkansas is a wealth of that sort of thing, isn't it.
Lucky girl, living there full time!

lovely! querida, te ves muy bella :D
amo tus fotos :D
I'm pretty nostalgic and sad when things like that happen to old, rustic buildings. There's this park near my old apartment that's built on this 1930s farm property -- if the county ever tore those old barns down for commercial retail, I would seriously cry and cry.
I love that you match that building, and your outfit is so pretty. I'm such a Coca-Cola addict (I know I should stop drinking it, but I don't), so I love lots of red, black and white.
Oh, what an adorable look... navy blue and red make my eyes so happy! I just found your blog recently and I'm quite a fan. Lovely.

For a minute there I thought these were old photographs that you dug up on google. And then I realized they are modern and it made me love them that much more. You Starr are very talented.

Ah, I love this whole outfit, Starr! And these photos turned out amazing :)
Cute outfit!
I love these photos...they have a vintage feel to them :)
love the look...tres vintage chic!!!
I love this look. Vintage but with a modern feel... it doesn't look "old".
Saltwatering.
There aren't many lovely historical places to feel sentimental about so it's interesting to read about these sorts of things.
I really like how your outfit perfectly goes with the coke sign. Primary colors!

love your whole outfit and the pictures are so cute!
I love this outfit; that skirt is so great. And you are guest blogging like crazy--where do you find the time?!
oh hello, gorgeous. love love love that skirt!
adore the polka dots!
the red sunnies is a lovely touch I must say~
xo
Your skirt is so perfect, I swear, you are an amazing thrift shopper!
And to be honest, I can't really relate to buildings being torn down, but I almost wish I could. I live in a mid-century sort of development that's pretty well kept, so there's no vacant houses. And if there are crumbling houses anywhere, you can be sure they'll be knocked down (if they haven't already) so two mini-McMansions can go in the lot. It's awful.
It really is a shame when your favourite old places disappear. At least you can think that you're documenting them while they're still around. Perhaps your blog pictures will show up in future archives! And surely if these places are on endangered lists they should be eligible for some kind of protection.
On a cheerier note, I of course love your skirt. Such an original pattern and the texture looks cool too. I would live in it if I owned it...
nice pairing - unexpected but completely chic.
so very cute! love the big sign and your amazing polka dot blouse. you are a thrifting genius!
I love the outfit! And don't even go there with me on disappearing places... I'm watching a city get torn down around me. Damn Detroit.
Omgs I didn't realize you were in AR until I saw this picture. lol Glad to know someone else appreciates Argenta too. I live in NLR.
