Two years and counting, home is whenver I'm with you.

Yesterday was mine and Jake's 2nd Anniversary.

We're hardly romantic and could care less about formal celebrations, and we actually forgot it was our big day until I remember it was the 5th and we had to pay rent! I told him all I wanted was for him to get in a couple photos with me. He did it, and it was a nightmare, the last time I'll ever make him get his picture taken. The photos are cute though. I don't have them edited yet, but in honor of the big day I wanted to repost something I posted back in October when my blog still a baby.

In October I made a trip to see my family in Alabama. This is what I posted when I got back:

My honey.

He loves me, he gets me, he inspires me. For my vacation to Alabama he burned me a few mp3's and told me not to listen to a particular track until my trip home to Arkansas. When I tried to listen it didn't work so I had to watch the video when I got home (if you want to be happy for the rest of the day, I advise watching the video too).

I'm from Alabama. He's from Arkansas. It's perfect.

"Home" by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes
from the Mondo Boys mixtape "Weird Summer"

Okay, okay, so I traded the video he showed me out with the David Letterman performance, but it's just so great to watch them live. They make me happy, and I think I'm obsessed with both the lead singers. I nearly tear up every time I listen to this song. I can't wait to see them at Bonnaroo!!!

Do you have a song with your honey?

I love that they get so into their music that they dance, because that is how I am with music. I dance like crazy.

Happy 2 year anniversary for you guys! That's great!!

I have lots of songs with Rob. That's what happens when you've been best friends for slightly over 10 years though. O.o

so cute and congrats! i want to see more of him on the blog - i'm interested in anyone dating a girl so wonderful!

our song is "junk fire" by goodnight loving, but "strangers" by the kinks is going to be the first dance at our wedding.

happy two years to you two! :) my honey bear and i have two songs--one is from a CD he burned me before we even went out. it's in chinese but the lyrics definitely speak to our story--i didn't like him at all. actually, i was so over men in general, but the song was about he'd be my prince and he'd give me a fairy tale ending. and three and a half years later, we're two peas in a pod :) the other song is the first slow-song we ever danced to which is lifehouse's you and me!

Aw, happy anniversary Starr! I love that song and I love Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. I'm terribly envious you'll be seeing them at Bonaroo. You and your boy are adorable, and I love getting little glimpses into your home/life. The first photo is especially adorable!

Sometimes I get hung up on wanting to show others the way I relate to my boyfriend but then I realize it's better to feel a private and encircling love with someone that you can't necessarily explain or show to others.

(PS--Your lookbook.nu photoshoot was amazing! I love your spin on the leather jacket and the way you made it work with your style. I'm so happy you've gotten to collaborate with them!!!)

Ah, congratulations on two years! My boyfriend and I had ours actually just this past Thursday. You guys look awfully cute together. :) And I'm sure the pictures won't be a disaster as you described!
Our song is we'll never leave again by straylight run. I like the song itself, though its more his type of music. haha

Aw, how sweet. Michael and I are approaching on two years, too! We have a few songs but our first one and the one that always makes me tear up is Transatlanticism by Death Cab For Cutie. We're in a long-distance relationship and he put it at the last track on the first mix her ever made me. I always tear up at "I need you so much closer."

aw, you guys remind me of my brother and his lady...it's like i can tell that you are fun people just by the twinkle in your eyes. and i like how you are casual about formalities; people have such funny expectations for relationships and i love that you two are just taking it easy. it makes everything more fun and fresh that way. happy anniversary and here's to another wonderful year and more pictures of you together!!!

This is very sweet! Congrats! It's almost good to not have these high expectations when it comes to dates and formal celebrations, I've learned.
