Thrift Trip Magic

You know how I was a little cranky about the weather yesterday? Well, it ended up being a great thing. I got some school scholarship paperwork done that I was planning on putting off until Monday, and I found out that the deadline was actually a lot sooner than I initially thought! If I had waited to do it on Monday I would've missed out an easy $2,500 towards my tuition. For those of you who are rich, that's an insane amount of money to me! It would've been completely irresponsible if I had let that one slip through my fingers. Thank you rain for putting my priorities straight.

That's probably more about my personal life than any of you care to hear, so on a fashion note...

I did some model fittings for Sunday's shoot the other day and ran into a problem when I remembered one of them wears a size 9 1/2 shoe. I wear an 8 1/2. All the outfits were styled already, and tons of adjustments had to be made. She did fit in one pair of my shoes, but they didn't really go well with everything I wanted. I decided I'd make an itty bitty trip to Saver's to see if they had a pair we could use for the shoot.

It ended up being one of the best thrift trips I've had in a while.

I found this umbrella I plan on carrying at Bonnaroo. You wouldn't even believe the temperature difference when you carry shade along with you.

This purse which I'm selfishly keeping to use as my book bag next semester.

These precious dresses which will all be in the shop soon.

A pair of Jeffery Campbell flats and a pair of Michael Kors weaved cork heels. Both big enough for my model (and both probably going to the shop)!

And this leather backpack, also going to the shop.

I was really glad I went that day! Lot of brown, lots of leather, and lots going to the shop! Wish me luck on my drive to Annie!

LOVE the photos!!
I know what you mean about school loans. My husband went to a grad school for 13 months the month after we married. We still owe $11,000 but paid off more than half of the total cost it was. . .keep in mind we've been paying this off for more than 5 years now :: sigh :: hopefully in less than 5 years we can finish this off too. It is not fun that schools take so much from people. :: sigh ::

Size 9.5 shoes?! You should list them in the shop. Us big feet people can never find anything good.

That leather bookbag you're keeping is amazing.

Omg Starr I love all the things that you got at Savers! But I have to tell you that I am sooo bummed that I can't go to Bonnaroo. My boyfriend was going to surprise me with tickets, but my old car died and I used all the money in the savings (aka the ticket money) on a new (to me) car. I didn't know he was planning on buying the tickets, until after he gave me the money to buy the car and I felt so bad. He loves Norah Jones soooo much and I love Weezer and like half the bands playing..I am sorry for leaving a huge message on your page but can you please take pictures when you go? :)
