Yeasayer in Memphis!

I'm stepping away from a fashion related post today , and instead, I'm driving to Memphis to see Yeasayer!

I saw them last year at Bonnaroo, and they were without a doubt my number one favorite performance there. Grizzly Bear was a real close second, if not a tie, and I guess Animal Collective was third since they played such a crummy time slot. I'll be making the two hour drive with my sister and Hannah (one of my nautical models) and staying overnight so we can wake up and do some touristy things in the morning (by touristy I mean American Apparel and Urban Outfitters since we don't have either here). I'm actually really relived to be traveling with the girls and enjoying the trip by making thrift store stops along the way. I usually travel with guys who are on a mission to get where they're going with no interest in stopping to shop, so this is a welcomed change to my usual travel. I'll be taking both the video and digital cameras and will be certain to get lots of documentation along the way.

Expect a full report on Friday afternoon!

Photos taken by me at Arkansas Record Exchange.

I love Yeasayer, saw them in DC last year and they're amazing live. I swear the lead singer is tripping throughout the shows, but they have a really magnetic energy

Like everyone else, I love Yeasayer! They're pretty rad and a road trip with your lady friends is even radder! Especially if they love to shop! Sadly, almost none of my lady friends enjoying shopping and I end up going with my male friends more often. Oh well, whatevs. I can't wait to see your photos from your trip. If you're anything like you (sorry for silly word phrases) the photos will be of beautiful magical pixie fairies in perfect vintage sundresses romping around beautiful parts of the South and will make me wish I could take decent photos, have better thrifting skills, and live in the south!

The concert sounds like it will be great!

Have fun on your road trip - I agree, it's no fun to travel with boys who make you feel like an awful person just because you want to shop!

I loved the show... was glad to be able to make it.

P.S. Very fitting that in the last photo a British Sea Power album is in frame!
