My festival dress.

I was feeling pretty pitiful yesterday, cussing the fact that I was a women, so rather than taking any sort of public photos with my tripod I wanted to get as far away from the world as possible. I drove out to an area that had always been off limits to me thinking it was the beginning of some sort of formidable ghetto and ended up uncovering a whole new area of my town. I'm not sure why I felt so brave yesterday, but I think it was just me trying to put off the photos. When I got out a little further out I realized there was no ghetto at all, just a ton of condemned houses next to the airport. I stayed out of the houses thinking they may collapse on me (they were not inviting) and opted for some private field shots instead. There was a gang of dogs nearby that kept barking at me and indeed did scare me just a little, but for the most part it was a peaceful and serene afternoon. This is one of the outfits I wore to Bonnaroo last year and one of the best summer dresses in my closet!

Very cool shots--I really like the pattern on your dress! The light pole in the third photo is so interesting... what's it doing in the middle of a field?

It's so funny to think of what may have been going on off-camera when you snap your photos. They look so peaceful and serene you'd never know you were being barked at or otherwise harassed. Just the other day I was trying to snap a few photos with my tripod in an alley behind our house when a group (gang?) of girls started wondering aloud (very loudly) what that "skinny white bitch" was doing. Ha! I packed it up real quick and headed home.

Wow, $2 for such a pretty dress! I want to move to wherever it is you're staying!!

I wish I am braver in taking my pics outdoors and that the weather isn't so hot here that it burns my skin each time I go out! It's quite frustrating having to take pics indoors all the time!

Anyways, you look lovely in this setting, though the thoughts of dogs barking nearby is a lil unnerving:)

I can see why that is the best summer dress! it's so adorable and bright ^,^
This new place that you found looks so beautiful and peaceful, wish I could find somewhere like that too near me!

What is it about the area next to airports that seems to welcome condemned houses? Every airport in every state I've lived has had a ghetto area right next to it.

I'm glad you found this spot. It made for some lovely photos that contrast to well with your outfit.

I love how colorful your dress is! Sometimes, when I get mad at the world, it makes me feel so much better to just drive through the country roads. It's so relaxing and peaceful. Then I remember how much gas costs and I drive back. Ha!

Your ghettos sure are lush!

That's a great festival dress. Bonnaroo is gonna be a HOT one this year. We're already with highs in the 90s in mid April!

Sometimes a little exploring is all you need to get out of a funk. I'm happy the doggies stayed out of your way, but at the same time, I kind of would die to see a pic of you, surrounded by stray (friendly, of course) pooches. The dress, of course, is adorable.
