Ghost House Goosebumps

The chill invaded my city once again after an entire week of 70's and shorts, forcing a quick return to the tights and coats still left lingering from winter. Even though the wind was sometimes fierce, I tried to make the most of my solo day excursion full of pizza, pictures, and lots of Bob Dylan. I visited my sister at her restaurant for lunch (yummy pizza!), and then I drove around my old stomping grounds just outside of Little Rock in search of an extra interesting place to explore. It's funny that just the other day I was bragging on how daring I was with my tripod and camera because today I think I finally found my match.

Just steps off the main highway, tucked behind years of overgrown trees and shrub, sits this creepy abandoned home with windows and doors still ajar and an energy that makes your goosebumps crawl. The piercing silence was nearly unbearable, and every time I turned my back I cringed. I kept checking to make sure I could see the crack of light illuminating from the back door to make certain no one had come through to shut it (I'm getting chills just typing about it). I'm sure it was harmless, and I if someone were with me I would've gone in; I just couldn't do it all by myself. I plan on going back soon (already talked to the guys about going with me), but these outfit photos were about the best I could do for today.

I finished up my day with pretty dresses and lots of antiques at Blue Suede Shoes in Bryant (more on that tomorrow), and tonight I'll be birthday party hopping (what's the deal with all the March birthdays??) at strangers houses and grungy dive bars. I'd call that a Saturday success.

I do love that dress! I've been looking for a perfect little white dress for spring/summer.

You must have gotten the front that we did on Thursday...that wind was FIERCE (in the words of Tyra Banks)

Oh I would have totally gone in! I love old abandoned houses. I guess they don't scare me because I don't believe in ghosts and I figure it is pretty unlikely to turn out into a psycho murder movie either.

At least you have felt 70 degrees! It has barely gotten in the 50s here yet. And the last two days have been rainy and bleak. :(

I love this! The simple black and white color scheme lets all the lovely textural details just shine.

Lovely outfit! The lace-y white dress contrast nicely with the dark wool coat.

And who doesn't love Bob Dylan?

I really like the white dress with black everything else. Very Victorian! Now you just need a giant white hairbow. ;)
