Circus Act: Lion Tamer

When I was out shopping for my store the other day I did what any girl would have done and bought a few things for myself. For the most part I was good, picked up tons of things for you guys (styled around a theme I think your gonna like), but there were a couple things I couldn't resist keeping for myself at least for a little while. One of the things I choose to keep was a jacket I had actually passed up a time or two before on previous visits to that thrift store. I don't know why it appealed to me so much this time, but as soon as I got home and tried it on I was happy I finally made the purchase. It's vintage and red and reminds me a lot of that circus theme I always seem to find my way back to. I felt like a lion tamer when I wore it with my mini top hat! I always seem to enjoy my outfits a little more when I have a character in mind.

Inspiration:

Skirt: Forever 21 $14
Boots: Modcloth $55
Top Hat: Forever 21 $8
Elephant Necklace: Forever 21 $5
Vintage Red Case: A gift from Anna.

that red jacket is fabulous

I love how your outfits are inspired by costumes, but they come off as real outfits not too theatrical.

This is great! I wish I kept more things for myself. I think it's important to do so, actually. xo.

Thank goodness the jacket was still there. It's very pretty with it's shiny buttons and all. And your shoot looks amazing.

One - I loved that video you posted and making an outfit around it is awesome, and it came out beautifully!

Two - you're right next door to Michael in the picture with the interstate behind you. I can't wait to come home!

What a beautiful red vintage case, I love old cases. I fell in love with this very pretty small brown case I saw at a market yesterday which I had decided would be perfect for my laptop. I arrived back to the market this afternoon to make the purchase and the person in front of me bought it right in front of my eyes. I hate when that happens!!

i used to have that same exact hat case! suddenly i realize i don't know what became of it, got lost in the shuffle of one of our moves i guess. sad. anyway i LOVE the way you put together an outfit girl, circus themes are my favorite...and i am so excited to see your shop.

What a great environment to be in for the outfit. It really suits it well as does the outfit suit you well!! I love the little Elegant Gothic Lolita looking hat. I know you've worn it before with outfits but it goes well with this one. Great inspirationally put together piece!!!
