More florals. More estate sales.

I woke up early this morning with the hopes of responding to blog comments and emails before getting started on my dreadful four page formal analysis paper due in art class later this week, but before I could finish everything I would have liked, my friend Courtney told me about an estate sale here in town. It was the last day of the sale and everything was 50% off, so of course I couldn't resist the vintage clothing temptation and jetted on my emails! I'm bummed I couldn't get back to you all (and probably won't be able to for the next couple of days since my school schedule is jammed packed with tests and papers this week), but fortunately the sale did turn up some great things! I got a few vintage skirts (one in the perfect blue gingham that just screams Dorothy), a nautical swimsuit, some vintage shorts, and a Christian Dior tie (for work). There were a few more things, but I can hardly remember everything right now. Those last day sales are the best! You go in and grab ten or fifteen things, and you only have to pay about 25 bucks. It's a shopper's dream!

Oh yeah, I'm finally wearing the new trench I told you about last week. I'll have to do a side by side comparison of the two so you guys can tell me which one you like best; I see no need for keeping both.

Vintage Trench: Saver's $20
Dress: F21 $5
Jeans: F21 $12.90
Vintage Riding Boots: Flea Market $20
Vintage Purse: Goodwill $3
Owl Necklace: Baker's $15
Cashmere Cardigan: Thrift $6

Love this outfit, especially that cute little print in the dress! I have lots of vintage owl necklaces- it's so funny that they are making so many in that style now! Forty years later they are still the greatest necklaces...

That trench fits you perfectly. I'm so weird, I always see a reason to have two of something. I'm clumsy and spill on myself, or tear it, whatever, so I'd keep both trenches, if I were you. Plus, does the other trench have a hood?

I love your boots, and the photo of them, which looks like your standing on a cliff over a deep chasm.

Hey Starr,

So I just realized that I knew about your chictopia way before I discovered your blog... I'm so slow. I remember I first saw you granny trousers photo on chictopia and I was captivated! I love this outfit of course! Lucky. I don't know where the estate sales are in San Francisco. Boo.
