Looking at the old, talking about the new.

does it seem like this february has been colder than normal to any of you? i mean, apart from the obvious extra snow we've been getting, the wind seems crisper and the bite just a little harder. i don't know how much more i can take! i've lived in the south all my life (alabama, texas, arkansas) and never do i EVER remember winter being this cold. i've grown so bored with the same three coats i've been rotating and all the other uncreative outfits i keep building that i promised myself a trip to the thrift store for some new staple pieces. i'm not sure if it was my desire for different clothes or the unveiling of all these new collections that actually got me there but whatever it was, it got me there! here's a little teaser of what i got:

-chambray button up & white vintage skirt
(both much like what Leith Clark and Anja Verdijo are wearing here)

-rusty orange vintage military trench

-cream oversized cardigan

-wool, puffed sleeve coat

-brown leather messenger bag

-floral short sleeve button up (to go with my skirts)

-socks like the ones in Alexa Chung's Madwell collection (one pair reminds me of Orla Kiely)

-brown trench lined in plaid (which means i'll be selling my old trench)

i know it's kinda blah just reading about it, but trust me, all these things will be making an appearance on the blog real soon. my old fur collared coat and 60's dress will have to do for now.

Where in the world do you go to find all these lovely things? The closest thing we have to a "thrift store" around here is the Good Will. Haha. Can't wait to see your purchases!

You're selling your trench? I've loved it since you featured it in the post you linked to. What size is it and how much do you think you'll want for it?

i'm ready for winter to be over too! but you look gorgeous and you're pulling off that coat effortlessly, i always have a hard time with vintage winter coats, feeling too bulky and whatnot. love the texture of your dress too..quite lovely.

Great outfit and hair, I love that dress.

I'm been searching for the perfect blue shirt like Leith Clark's but I haven't had any lucky yet.

Damn I was going to buy a new Hummer in late 2012 and drive around the country for a vacation, Now I am going to have to shave my head and join the Hari.s, Muslims, Jews, Jehovah s, Mormons, Christians, and a few other wing nut groups just to cover all my bases.
