confessions of a shopaholic

i've been such a raging shopaholic this week. aside from the thrifted stuff i told you about a couple posts back, i've ordered tights from two different stores, a lacy dress from ebay, an etsy package that already arrived with two dresses and a duffle coat (from the last post), another package that already made it from forever 21 carrying three pairs of shoes, a camera remote, and studio lighting. the worst part about it is, well, two things: a) i've already browsed urban outfitters and gilt this morning (like i need anything else) and b) i haven't paid all my bills for the month!! i'm not usually this bad, and i hate when i get this guilty feeling. you know, when your hiding the packages from your significant others. please tell me you guys do this every now and then too? followed by a little bit of guilt? i'm convinced it comes with being a girl. it's made me more excited about my outfits though!

Cable knit cardigan: Goodwill $4
Blouse: Goodwill $4
Skirt: Walmart $14
Sheer Heart Tights: Tabio $14
Oxfords: F21 $24
Purse: Saver's $5
Belt: Goodwill $1

I can be a shop-aholic too. Luckily, I always shop in thrift stores:) Whenever I feel like I've overdone it, I always talk to my husband about what I bought and how I feel even though I may be a bit embarrassed. Then I take a break from thrifting for a while.

oh shoot! I do this all the time! haha. My husband doesn't really care about my shopping habit, but I always feel SO guilty! At least thrift stores, etsy, ebay, and f21 are quite inexpensive! I feel more guilty when I give into my urban/anthropologie/designer cravings! I had on my Swedish Hasbeens the other night, and Robin asked how much they were.....I always just smile and giggle when they were too much/I am ashamed, so he knew right away!

I've smuggled my fair share of packages into the house. I work part-time at a department store and the other time at a vintage store. It's torture! But, the way I see it, I make my money, I pay my bills, I should get to treat myself every now and then. I'd rather spend my money on clothes that I can wear over and over than going out to dinner.

That sounds good. Its not a big deal. If you decide to sell it, please let me know and we'll talk. But there's no pressure:)

I do the same thing all the time. Last month I went so crazy at thrift stores/f21, that I couldn't pay my cable bill! oops!

I do that all the time!!! I totally hide my shopping bags, even if they are from thrift store! Sometimes its not even spending money that makes me feel guilty, its just the fact that I really dont need more stuff, but I get it anyways. Its so funny that you post this today because I decided to go the entire month of February without shopping, and today I broke and went to the thrift store! I feel so guilty!!!

This outfit is adorable!!! I love it!

I am such a shopaholic. I go to the mall just about every week and I always end up buying something. I actually went last night, but only went to Forever 21. I was good last night, though. I had two skirts and one jacket in my hand and ended up with just one of the skirts. I kept telling myself I have to save my money for NYC next week! Now I just have to worry about the actual shopping and money spending in NYC. haha.

The thing about online shopping for me is that I love receiving packages. lol. They're like getting presents! You get to open them up and everything! And there's just so many more options online.

You look adorable, by the way. :) I love every piece of this outfit!

I've been the same way this month, given I'm in college and don't pay any bills yet I still feel guilty!

Ohh cute outfit, must make a mental note of it for when it's winter where I am in a few months and I'm in need of inspiration...

Ahh, there's nothing quite like some shopahol! And yes I do hide things from my family because we are tight with money at the moment and yet here I am buying new things on a weekly basis. Speaking of shopping, now I want to go out and look at more stuff....my way of justifying the things I buy is that they were on SALE, or there was only one left in my size and I just had to get it before someone else did...

I do this more often than not! But this year so far I've been really good about it. I think I buy things online sometimes just for the sake of buying something.

Ugh shopping addiction. I hear you. I like to believe it is a female thing too, but a lot of my friends don't seem to be afflicted. Their loss.

Claire Nouveau said...

girl i'm with you. i used to be really bad when i lived back in texas, but the addiction has subsided a bit now that i've moved...not that the desire isn't there, it's just been put in its place :) hehe!
i love the texture of the sweater with the floral blouse, you're really SO good at styling. <3

I definitely hide new purchases from my friends cause they think I have a shopping problem. This is why I vowed only thrifting for 2010. I've cheated just a bit, but I've still been a million times better... It's HARD! Annie.

Yes, I've gone a bit overboard from time to time and always get that cringe when the credit card bill arrives - sometimes you are just overtaken, and sometimes its okay.

Lovely outfit, the bag and tights are awesome!

I went through a bit of a shopaholic phase last fall. There's something equally satisfying and shameful about it, actually. I do love this outfit though! The brown leather brogues are perfect with the rest of the ensemble.

that sweater is amazing!!! i have been looking for one like it at my goodwill, but alas no luck yet.
and the proportions of this ensemble are something i would copy in a minute--i love the high-waisted mini with the blouse and big sweater.
