My new parlor couch and things from your home

my new couch!

my new couch!

Here's a peak at the new couch I've been resting my buns on the past few weeks. I'd been searching for a couch like this for the past several months and refused to settle on anything until I found what I wanted (in my price range, of course); fortunately I found this little lady at Saver's with a matching chair for $50.

I have to admit it, none of it was comfortable at first. The cushions were so old they had turned to dust on the inside and were actually quite hard when you sat down. I bought it anyway thinking it would be an easy fix and immediately went to Hancock for some replacement cushions. When I got there I found a strip of cushion just long enough to fill the couch for nearly double what I paid for the set which was a little frustrating until I woke up and realized I was still getting an amazing deal. I mean I finally got the parlor couch and chair I've been dreaming about for years.

Do you have a piece in your home that you searched out like my couch? You should send me a picture. I would love to do a collective post of all our prized items! Feel free to email me a photo (starrcrow@live.com) or just leave a link in the comment section. I can't wait to see what you all send.

Don't forget to get your sweater giveaway entries in. I'll be drawing a winner tomorrow at noon!

What a beautiful sofa!! I also love my sofa -- it is a turquoise mod sofa from the 60's...it's really squishy and kind of falling apart, but I adore it!

there must be something about savers.
my boyfriend found his record player there.
it's one of those that is more like a piece of furniture.

My gray and yellow formica table was my prized find. I wanted a formica table forever, and then I found this one and it stole my heart. Picture forthcoming! Annie.
