1901 Victorian.

Neutrals.

Neutrals

Neutrals

I've lived just a couple blocks from this Victorian mansion for almost a year now, and I still can't help but stare every time I pass by. I think it was built on the cusp of the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and the for sale sign reads "7,600 Square Feet/ 26 Rooms". It takes me back to the days when my sister and I would play the game of Life, and all the times I would end up with the Victorian style home while she was stuck with the dreaded "split-level" shack (or vice versa!). It's crazy to imagine what kind of people filled these rooms and what kind of clothes hung in the closets.

As for my closet, I've been lucky enough to find some great neutral pieces this week. I've been inspired by all those tomboy/neutral/trench coat looks floating around on various blogs and street style sites, and with the help of Saver's I was able to come up with a look of my own.

Vintage Trench: Saver's $7
Vintage Purse: Saver's $5
Vintage Wingtip Spectators: Saver's $6
Jeans: Forever 21 $12.50
Circle Scarf: Forever 21 $8

You are seriously the best thrifter ever! That trench fits you perfectly and I've been looking for ages for a pair of shoes like that. The detail is incredible. And I won't even say how I feel about the purse because I'll sound like the craziest fawner of your thrifting abilities!

that house is beautiful!

your outfit is great! you remind me of an early 1940s journalist. i'm thinking of that movie "sky captain and the world of tomorrow". for some reason, you remind of gwyneth paltrow. i think it's the trenchcoat and purse. you can probably fit a camera in there!
